Terms of service
The terms under which CardTradeMate is provided.
1. Provider, scope and contracting party
CardTradeMate is operated by Schroll & Rosenegger GbR, Schönblickstr. 20, 83346 Bergen, Germany ("we", "us"). These terms govern the use of the CardTradeMate web application, the browser extension and the API.
Your contract for a paid subscription is concluded with us. Payments are processed on our behalf by Stripe, who act as our payment service provider and not as the seller.
Deviating terms of the user do not apply unless we have agreed to them in text form. We may amend these terms; we will notify you by email at least 30 days before a change takes effect. If you do not object before that date, the change is deemed accepted. We will point this out in the notification, and you may cancel with effect from the date the change would take effect.
2. What the service does
CardTradeMate is an application for managing a collection of Magic: The Gathering trading cards. It records inventory, purchases and sales, allocates costs on a first-in-first-out basis and produces reports.
The Free plan includes 15 orders per calendar month and the browser extension. The Premium plan removes that limit and adds your purchase prices on Cardmarket's pages (in the browser extension), PDF invoices, sealed product tracking and the ability to create your own groups.
Card data is provided by Scryfall and MTGJSON, product data by MTGJSON and TCGplayer. We have no influence on the availability, completeness or accuracy of those sources. CardTradeMate helps you keep records; it does not give tax, accounting, legal or investment advice, and the figures it produces do not replace advice from a qualified professional.
3. Registration and conclusion of contract
Using the application requires an account. You must provide accurate details and keep them up to date. An account is personal; access credentials and API keys must not be passed on to third parties.
Creating an account is free of charge and does not oblige you to pay anything. New accounts receive the full Premium feature set until 31 December 2026, and in any case for at least 2 months from the day the account is created, whichever ends later. When that period ends the account returns to the Free plan automatically. No payment details are stored and no payment obligation arises.
A paid subscription comes about when you start checkout from the Premium page, are taken to the payment page operated by Stripe and complete the order there. The presentation of the plans on our website is an invitation to you to make an offer, not a binding offer by us. We confirm the contract by email.
4. Prices, payment and invoices
Premium costs 1.99 € per month. This is the total amount payable per billing period; any value added tax is included.
Payment is processed by Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. Card details and other payment data are handled exclusively by Stripe and never reach us. The payment methods available to you are shown during checkout.
The subscription is billed in advance for each month. Payment is due at the start of each billing period. If a payment fails, we may suspend access to Premium features after the current paid period has ended; the Free plan remains available.
Receipts and invoices for your subscription are provided by Stripe and can be retrieved at any time from the customer portal.
5. Term and cancellation
The subscription runs for one month at a time and renews automatically for a further month unless it is cancelled before the end of the current period.
You can cancel at any time, without giving reasons and with effect from the end of the period already paid for, through the customer portal reachable from the Premium page. Access to Premium features remains until that date; afterwards the account continues on the Free plan and your data stays intact.
Both parties retain the right to terminate for good cause. Good cause on our side includes serious or repeated breaches of section 6.
6. Your obligations
You are responsible for keeping your password and any API keys confidential and for all activity carried out through your account. Please tell us without delay if you suspect that your credentials have been compromised.
You must not use the application or the API in a way that impairs its operation or the operation of the data sources it relies on — in particular by automated mass requests, by circumventing rate limits, or by using the API for purposes other than operating your own account.
You are responsible for the content you enter or import, and for ensuring that you are entitled to use it. Do not enter content that infringes the rights of others or breaches the law.
7. Availability and changes to the service
We aim for high availability but do not promise a specific uptime. Maintenance, faults at our hosting provider, or outages at the external data sources may make the service temporarily unavailable. We will announce planned maintenance where it is foreseeable and place it outside usual working hours where possible.
We may develop the service further and adjust individual functions, provided the contractually agreed purpose is not materially impaired. If we discontinue a material Premium feature, you may cancel with effect from the date of the change.
8. Your data and backups
Your inventory and order data remain yours. We take regular backups as part of normal operations, but these serve to keep the service running and are not a substitute for your own records. You can export your data from the application at any time, and we recommend doing so regularly.
After an account is deleted, we remove the associated data unless statutory retention obligations require otherwise. Details are in the privacy policy.
9. Liability
We are liable without limitation for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and under the German Product Liability Act.
In the case of slight negligence we are liable only where an obligation is breached whose fulfilment is essential to the proper performance of the contract and on whose observance you may regularly rely. In that case our liability is limited to the damage that is foreseeable and typical for this kind of contract.
Any further liability is excluded. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
10. Right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer, you have a statutory right of withdrawal. The details and the model withdrawal form are set out in the withdrawal policy.
11. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the law of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.
If you are a consumer habitually resident in another EU member state, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of that state (Art. 6 of the Rome I Regulation). You may also bring proceedings before the courts of the state in which you are resident.
Should individual provisions of these terms be or become invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions is unaffected; the statutory rules apply in their place.
12. Version
These terms are dated 21 September 2026.
